Outdoor Project Program Instructor (Spring and Fall)
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2023!
We are looking for dynamic, creative, experienced educators who are passionate about teaching social justice and creating inclusive communities. Program Instructors will participate in a staff training week followed by six weeks of teaching 4th and 5th graders at Mosaic’s Outdoor Project. This is a full-time residential position based at a camp in Felton, CA during the fall (September-October) and spring (April-May).
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate games, activities, and discussions that encourage students to appreciate and respect themselves and others.
- Provide a nurturing, safe, fun learning environment for our students.
- Work closely with other staff members to create a magical experience for our students they will never forget.
- Train a less experienced Facilitation Fellow.
- Supervise high-school aged cabin leaders.
- Share your unique experiences, talents and skills with our community.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 24.
- Experience in human-relations/diversity/social justice/cross-cultural education.
- Experience working with children, especially ages 9-11.
- Excellent teaching and facilitation skills.
- Stamina to work extremely long, but rewarding hours.
- Ability and desire to live and work in a tight-knit, diverse community.
- Medical, counseling, musical, theatrical, and/or art experience is desired.
- Certifications in CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and lifeguarding are a plus.
- Passion for youth development, social justice, and creating peace!
Compensation begins at $675/week, plus room and board at the camp during the week. Weekend housing is also available if needed. Additional pay is offered to returning Program Instructors and those with lifeguard, WFR, or EMT certifications, as well as to guitarists who learn to lead campfires.

Outdoor Project Facilitation Fellow (Spring and Fall)

We are looking for dynamic, creative, and passionate individuals interested in gaining training and experience in social emotional learning (SEL), experiential education, classroom management, and creating inclusive communities. If you are currently studying education, or about to enter the education field, and you are looking for a seasonal internship in teaching and facilitation, this might be the position is for you!
Facilitation Fellows participate in a staff training week followed by six weeks of teaching 4th and 5th graders Mosaic’s unique social justice curriculum at our Outdoor Project. They are trained by and co-facilitate with more experienced Program Instructors. This is a full-time residential position based at a camp in Felton, CA during the fall (September-October) and spring (April-May).

Outdoor Project Camp Manager (Spring and Fall)
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2023!
We are looking for an organized and resourceful individual who is passionate about supporting social justice and creating inclusive communities. The Camp Manager will support a staff training week followed by six weeks of managing operations for sessions with groups of 4th and 5th graders at Mosaic’s Outdoor Project. This is a full-time residential position based in Felton, CA during the fall (September-October) and spring (April-May) seasons.
Responsibilities:
- Logistical management and support of all curriculum & lodging needs including: meals for 115+ students and teachers, including special diets (coordinating with Camp MayMac kitchen); teaching supplies in multiple sites around camp; lodging needs for 16 cabins; and student behavioral needs.
- Provide a nurturing, safe, fun learning environment for our students.
- Work closely with other staff members to create a magical experience for our students they will never forget.
- Maintenance, inventory and re-supply of weekly curriculum materials.
- Manage the Camp MayMac and Mosaic Project relationship as primary go between for both staff teams.
- Light camp maintenance duties: toilets, door locks, shower plumbing, electrical fuses, internet, etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 24.
- Camp management or related logistical experience.
- Experience working with children, especially ages 9-11.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Stamina to work extremely long, but rewarding hours.
- Experience being the primary liaison between two organizations.
- Medical, counseling, administration, and/or mechanical repair experience is desired.
- Certifications in CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and lifeguarding are a plus.
- Passion for youth development, social justice, and creating peace!

- Stamina to work extremely long, but rewarding hours.
- A logistics role at a summer camp, outdoor education program, after-school program, or similar experience a plus.
- Certifications in CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and lifeguarding are a plus.
- Passion for youth development, social justice, and creating peace!
Compensation begins at $525 and includes room and board during the week (weekend housing available if needed). Additional pay offered for returning staff, and lifeguard, WFR, and EMT certifications.

Fall 2023 Office Assistant
We are hiring an Office Assistant for 2 days per week with flexible hours, but focused primarily on Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays, from mid-August to end-October. This person will work with our Administrative Director at the Mosaic office to get 100+ registrations and paper-work ready for each weekly Outdoor Project session. Administrative experience is desired; familiarity with our program is extremely helpful, though not required. The role requires in-office presence for printing paperwork.
Responsibilities:
- Track student, youth leader, and teacher registrations through Salesforce database; correct mistakes and discrepancies as needed
- Print and organize all medical forms for each week
- Assist with preparing student information and various report formats using Salesforce and Excel
- Work closely with the Administrative Director to complete session preparation
Qualifications:
- Ability to navigate databases and spreadsheets
- Ability to maintain a flexible and positive attitude when facing things like delays and last-minute changes
- Detail oriented
- Proactive, ability to learn on the job and problem solve
- Available on Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays
- Desired: Salesforce experience
- Desired: experience with The Mosaic Project, either as a volunteer, former youth leader, intern, or facilitator
Compensation commensurate with experience.
