Donor Privacy Policy
Thank you for joining us in Peacing it Together!
Your Relationship with The Mosaic Project
We view you as our partner in our work. Solicitations by The Mosaic Project for funds or in-‐kind support shall be free from undue influence or excessive pressure on you and shall be respectful of your needs and interests as a donor or potential donor. We strive to be transparent to our community and to provide you with all the information you need to make your gift.
Your Rights as a Donor
You shall be informed of The Mosaic Project’s mission and donor policies, of the way we intend to use donated resources, and of our capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purpose. You shall be informed of the identity of those on our governing board and you can expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities. You can request access to our most recent financial statements at any time. You can expect prompt and appropriate acknowledgement and recognition for your gifts, and you shall receive assurance that any restricted gifts you make are used for the purpose for which they are given. You can expect that all relationships with our staff will be respectful, as well as to be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees, or hired solicitors. You can feel free to ask questions when considering or making a donation and you will receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers. The Mosaic Project strongly recommends that you seek your own legal, tax, and estate planning counsel as necessary before making a gift.
Privacy Statement
The Mosaic Project will handle your personal and financial information with confidentiality. You can request that your name be deleted from our mailing lists, or request that all contact be only by a particular method (i.e. email, regular mail, phone, or in person), or that you do not continue to receive updates or solicitations. You can also request that your gift be anonymous.
Donor/Customer Lists
The Mosaic Project’s lists of donors, students, parents, partner schools, customers, and vendors are not for sale. When you become a donor to The Mosaic Project, or when you or your child participates in our program, your name and mailing information will not be sold to or shared with anyone outside the organization. Further, we go to great lengths to protect all personal information, including financial information and protected health information.
Credit Card or Bank Account Information
The Mosaic Project uses secure transaction methods (SSLs) when collecting credit card information over the Internet. The Mosaic Project does not store your credit card or bank information on any computer, server, or cloud. We keep only paper records in a locked cabinet with restricted access and follow standard procedures for destruction of confidential documents.
Feedback Procedure
If you suspect that we have handled your personal information in a manner that does not comply with this policy, please contact us by emailing an explanation to COO Brian Lowe, or by calling 510-452-3377.
