Core Themes
Our core themes—Celebrating Differences, Fostering Empathy, Communicating Assertively, and Resolving Conflict—are designed to empower students with the skills and mindset necessary to become effective peacemakers in their schools, homes, and communities. Through the lesson progression, your students will:

Foster Empathy
- Empathize with others who have different perspectives
- Use empathy to make things fair for everyone
Communicate Assertively

- Learn 5 Tools for Conflict Resolution
- Approach conflicts without the Peace Blockers: Blame, Guilt, & Defensiveness
- Work together to complete a group challenge
Program Elements
The Mosaic Classroom Project program consists of 16 sequential lessons for 4/5th grade classes in plug-and-play slide decks with interactive elements. Each lesson is 20-60 minutes and includes documentary films featuring Mosaic students, instructional videos, an original Mosaic song, fun “gametivities” (games and activities), and a discussion guide, ensuring students and teachers can effortlessly engage with the content and adapt the curriculum to their classroom needs.

Participation in the Mosaic Classroom Project benefits the entire school! 4th and 5th grade classes receive ready-to-use lessons, and these teachers receive ongoing support and supplemental materials from Mosaic throughout the school year. Not only are the older students empowered to be role models for younger grades, teachers at all grade levels gain access to Mosaic’s Activity Bank with over 70 experiential lessons to support students of all ages in practicing their peacemaking skills.
